Discover Western Australia
Western Australia occupies the entire western third of Australia and is best known for its capital, Perth - the country’s sunniest city, averaging 3000 hours of sunshine a year. The great climate is complemented by the region’s 19 beautiful beaches, pristine bushland wilderness and excellent food and wine.
The coastal town of Margaret River is filled with boutique-style wineries, and its gorgeous beaches and world-class waves draw leisure-seekers and serious surfers alike. In Broome, the ‘pearl of the north', visitors can enjoy magical sunsets at Cable Beach, or experience the ‘Staircase to the Moon’, a mesmerising natural phenomenon which occurs when the full moon rises at low tide over Roebuck Bay.
Alternatively, head inland to Karijini National Park (Australia’s second-largest), where striking gorges - carved by water into the red-pink sandstone over centuries - are complemented by sparkling pools and waterfalls.

Ningaloo Reef
The Ningaloo Marine Park is a reserve established to protect Ningaloo Reef, a world-famous 260km fringing reef off Western Australia’s mid-north coast.
Visitors typically spend their day snorkelling, swimming or scuba diving through exquisite coral lagoons and deeper offshore waters which create a diverse array of habitats for an abundance of colourful corals as well as over 500 distinct species of fish. The park is unique as one can step straight off the pristine powder sand beaches and immediately enter an underwater playground of extraordinary diversity.
Many fascinating marine creatures regularly visit the area including whale sharks, turtles, dolphins, manta rays and humpback whales, making it a must-see for nature-lovers.
Other popular activities in the area include fishing, kayaking and taking off-road tours of the magnificent red sand dunes in Cape Range National Park.
Kimberley Region
The Kimberley is one of the world's last great wilderness areas. Sandwiched between a remarkably rugged coastline and hauntingly beautiful deserts in the northernmost region of Western Australia, the Kimberley is unfathomably vast - it encompasses an area approximately twice the size of the U.K!
The majority of the region’s inhabitants reside in small towns such as Kununurra and Wyndham in the east and Broome and Derby in the west. The area offers an unprecedented abundance of natural wonders including sprawling spinifex plains dotted with boabs, palm-clad gorges, breathtaking waterfalls, towering mountain peaks and the incredible UNESCO world heritage Purnululu National Park, with its multitude of unusual dome-shaped sandstone formations.
Other popular tourist attractions in the area include numerous aboriginal paintings, some of which are believed to be around 50 000 years old; Broome’s famous Cable Beach, where visitors can admire the sunset while riding camels; and the renowned Windjana Gorge National Park, which is brimming with incredible gorges featuring a host of perfectly preserved prehistoric fossils.
